Keeping it Warm and Cozy

My wardrobe used to be very black and grey, but over time I started to add bits of color hear and there--and it all started with floral patterns and lace details. There's something about lace and florals that make my heart skip a beat. As I mentioned before, there are many things that I splurge on that I know wouldn't really look so good on me, but if it has a pretty lace or floral details, I find myself immediately hooked (I also just realized that almost half of my blog posts consist of outfits that have in one way or another floral prints and patterns).

As much as I want to pull off a modern chic look that screams sexy and hot, I always find myself getting all boho on me. Today's outfit is one of those for winter that satisfies all of my inner desires, the epitome of lace and floral. As the weather is getting colder, it is important to layer, and my favorite way of doing so is to wear some sort of a maxi skirt (with leggings or whatever as an extra layer of warmth) and tall boots. On this day, I wore my all-time favorite floral slip from Free People, and since it is absolutely sheer, I layered it with their ivory-colored romper slip (it is so soft and stretchy, and seriously doesn't ride up!). I put on a dusty pink sweater, and wore my new Minnetonka lace-up boots. This by itself would have been perfect for the fall, but since it is freezing in Chicago, I put on my khaki parka with beautifully soft and warm fur trimming (the fur could be separated, so I wear it without it during the fall, as can be seen in my previous posts). Finally, I put on a vintage Coach messenger bag to complete the boho look. This was the look that was able to satisfy all my needs for florals and laces, while keeping everything warm and cozy.
