Black on Black

Do you have any item in your closet that brings back memories, good or bad? I have one, and it is this leather jacket from Anthropologie. I got this 6 years ago when I was fresh out of high school, was more passionate and daring about life, and had to constantly convert dollars to Korean won because I just had no clue. With a limited budget in my wallet, I was always in and out of h&m until this one day when I walked into Anthropologie and drooled over this leather jacket. Despite knowing that I probably have to cutback on my weekly allowance on food and go back to eating the gross ones from the dining hall, I was so drawn by the magical force of this leather jacket that nothing seemed to matter--and this has probably got to be one of the most spontaneous purchases that I have ever made. After that, I probably only wore this no more than a dozen times which is a complete shame! So few weeks back I decided to whip it out of my closet and make do with it even though this is not my usual look. It took a good 30 minutes trying on this and that to fit myself into this style. None of the dresses I tried on worked with this jacket, but I soon found a sheer blouse and a pair of black shorts to give an effortless, black on black chic vibe to it.I did not want to make this outfit too dark, so I added a grey knee-high socks to give it a bit of a dimension, and a caramel mini box tote from Sophie Hulme to make sure that I did end up drowning in black. Black always manages to slim out any imperfections, and despite this being my unusual looks, I felt very comfortable in this outfit. There are bits of leather, chiffon, suede mixed in this whole outfit, making this black on black look more interesting. Were there anything that just shot a cupid's arrow through your heart and it did not matter what the price tag was screaming at you at the same time? Did you get it or were you able to let your mind take control over your heart?  Leather Jacket and Sophie Hulme 1

  2. You are absolutely adorable Hae Min! Really love the over the knee boots you have on (which you wear so well!) This Franco Sarto pair is amazing!! And yes I agree with mixing different textures to keep a black on black ensemble more interesting. I like lace + lace the most, a great blend of femininity and masculinity! Enjoy your day hun! :) xo~ Lena
