I love buying shoes more so than I love buying clothes, and main reason is that I am pretty consistently a size 6.5, although my clothes range from XS to XL (seriously). Plus, I think that an awesome pair of heels can effortlessly add such a statement to the whole outfit. So naturally when it comes to buying a new pair, what concerns me the most is how many different kinds of styles I can pull off and how effortless it would look.
Few weeks back I came across Vagabond Dioon Hologram Oxford on sale at Urban Outfitters. I don't own anything vaguely related to metallic or hologram so at first I thought I wouldn't have much to style this pair of awesome hologram oxfords with. But then I decided to go out of my comfort zone, went on Polyvore, and made some fashion sets featuring this hologram oxford. Then I got convinced, purchased it, and am loving. In the weeks to come you will see me wear my hologram oxford, but for now I just wanted to share some of these fashion sets with you.
I have no intention of going overly metallic with my outfits, and below are some of the ways in which anyone can pull off a hologram/metallic look without looking like an alien. After all, adding some metallic/hologram to any outfit brings out so much character and style!
There no other color than blue that matches silver hologram better, so this casual outfit features a blue bag and a blue mirror sunglasses. Plus, that crop top has hologram prints on it, giving this outfit an effortless hologram/metallic look. Simple, easy, and stylish.
Shirt: Pixie Market / Jeans: Acne Studios / Bag: Marni / Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs / Sunglasses: Wildfox
Another casual look, but this time the focus is all about the bag and shoes. The outfit itself could be of any color, but matching hologram bags and shoes is by far the easiest and the least kitsch. And feeling a bit bold? Top it off with mirror sunglasses!
Top: Chicwish / Shorts: Romwe / Bag: Milly / Sunglasses: Wildfox
Hologram isn't something that also works for younger people or for models on a runway. It is also perfect for a pair of blouse and jeans--destroyed or not. Top it with silver jewelries and a blue bag, and this outfit becomes perfect for any class or meeting.
Shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs / Jeans: Zara / Handbag: Michael Kors / Watch: FossilOutfit #4
This one is more sporty than others, and it involves wearing your usual casual sporty outfit but adding a hologram hat and shoes. This outfit is sexy and unique, and plus it is full of vibrant personality!
Shirt: Adidas / Top: Topshop / Jeans: Frame / Hat: American Apparel / Bag: Alexander Wang / Sunglasses: Wildfox
This is probably my favorite outfit of them all. Hologram doesn't always have to mean casual--it can be classy and chic, depending on what you style it with. I am a little crazy about peplum pencils skirts these days, so I created an outfit just for that! Think of a silver hologram shoes, bags, or whatever item you own as if it were white, and style it accordingly. The outfit becomes a bit more eye-catching and colorful when hologram replaces the color white.
Sweater: Blackfive / Skirt: Kaelen / Bag: Guess / Sunglasses: Miu Miu
Which would you say is your favorite? Will you be adding some hologram to your spring outfits?
