I used to be a firm believer that people with yellow-based skin tones like I do should stay away from pastel tones, particularly lavender, as these shades do nothing to help brighten the skin tone but they rather emphasize the yellowness. Recently however I have been obsessed with lavender, especially with lavender sweaters, even though I still admit it really isn't the most flattering color on my skin tone, I also realized that it also isn't impossible to wear. If I have the right makeup on, it actually looked pretty good, so the challenge was with the makeup. It was even more a challenge because although I could wear the most basic brown eyeshadows and nude lips, I wanted something more.

Hence I went on a mission to find the BEST lipstick to match this lavender sweater, and I literally went to the nearest Sephora store, swatched all shades of purple on my arms and lips while wearing this very lavender sweater, and found the one. I even searched to see if I could find anything that is cheaper than this, as Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche Lipsticks retail for $26 which isn't the cheapest lipstick in the market or in Sephora (I am most comfortable around $15~$20), but unfortunately I couldn't. So if any of my readers know of a better alternative, please let me know!

When the sales associate in Sephora said "how about this one?" I literally said no, that's too dark, that will just be purple and I am looking for lavender. She agreed that it looked too dark and we moved on to swatching Urban Decay's Vice lipsticks. There were a couple of shades that I thought would look beautiful, but they either literally washed me out, looks grey on the lips, or made me look too goth, and the sales associate and I literally cringed at how they miserably matched my lavender sweater. Also UD's Cruz is another one that swatches similar to this one but it is almost magical to see how different it looked on the lips compared to Spritzer. Defeated I was going to just wear my nude lipsticks when I decided to give this one a shot. So long story short, Bite Beauty's Spritzer Amuse Bouche Lipstick (@Sephora) was the most perfect lavender lipstick.

This lipstick is in a very simple packaging and I do love how the tip of this lipstick is shaped like the lipstick itself. It has a lemon scent to it which I personally am not too crazy about (It Cosmetic's CC Creams have the same scent). But the scent alone sort of gives the illusion that this lipstick is super hydrating--not to say that it isn't hydrating though.

This lipstick is super pigmented and feels like butter on the lips, but as you can see in the photo below it does emphasize the lines.

On the website, Spritzer is described as a plum rose shade. When I first swatched this, I thought it was going to be too purple, too dark, and I did not even bother to apply it on the lips to try it out. But the reason why this lipstick worked on me is because how it has this warm pink undertone to it rather than blue. In the photo below you can see this lipstick sheered out on the edges, and the shade turns to this very beautiful light pink-purple shade!

So to get the color I want, I just lightly apply it on the lips and use a q-tip or a brush to sheer it out. Even when I sheer it out it does last me a long time as long as I am not eating anything greasy. My lips are super dry and flaky, and if you apply this in its full intensity this lipstick's moisturizing texture can feel very forgiving. However when I sheer it out, it feels matte on the lips.
