DRESS: ZARA FLORAL DRESS (SIMILAR) // BAG: MARC JACOBS // BOOTS FRANCO SARTO (SIMILAR) // SWEATER: FOREVER21 (SIMILAR)

I am a shortie, and that means when it comes to maxi skirts and maxi dresses, I am literally dusting the floors with them as I walk unless I am wearing 3 inch+ heels. Pants and jeans come in multiple lengths, so why don't brands like Zara come up with something in petite sizes? But thankfully, there are some midi dresses that hit right at my ankle, and today I wanted to share with you all my favorite midi dress.

It is such a beautiful dress, looks even more amazing with red lipsticks and I have received numerous compliments wearing this dress. But can I just say that one compliment that stood out the most was by this cashier at Target who told me that I look like a geisha (a Japanese male entertainer to say the least). Dumbfounded and lost for words, I just stood there and stared at her, and she said "oh I mean it as a compliment!" I'm sure she meant well and I get what she's trying to say but come on.

The vibrant red floral prints reminded me of Dolce Gabbana dresses and I instantly knew this would be worth paying the whole regular price for (I am addicted to Zara's sales, so I happen to make the mistake of waiting for something to go on sale only to find out that it's all sold out). By itself this dress is beautiful and has a slit in the front and back, so it isn't the most conservative dress out there, but given the vibrant floral print I wouldn't call this one something you could wear to blend in with the crowd. However, I do like to wear this with black oversized sweater or a cropped sweater like I am doing today just to tone down the print a bit more and make it just a tiny bit less floral and more daily.

With maxi skirts, I do like to wear ankle boots with them most of the times, but with the weather getting colder and colder, I like to layer my maxi dresses with some leggings or tights and hide it all under a knee high boots. And you would never guess how warm I am despite the fact that I look as though I'm wearing just a thin layer of chiffon! :)

Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed this look and let me know how you like to wear your maxi dresses!

XOXO,

HaeMin
